We have been M.I.A for too long! Things have been pretty busy lately! We had a great Halloween, tons of fun celebrating Austyn, Kerington and Pa's birthday, and had a great family photo session with Lexi Jones! Ansley Brown also took a few fun ones of Mommy and Caleb at Austyn's party - I will share them all when I get the images!!
I thought about catching up by back-tracking but I wouldn't even know where to begin ... So I'm going to just pick-up right here and keep on truckin! :)
Before I begin I have to share this photo of my little guy, thank you Lexi Jones!
Tonight I'm going to post a couple of funny things that come to mind, hope that you enjoy!
"Stop!"
Caleb has really taken notice to every stop light and stop sign as we go on our mini adventures. He is also very quick to tell you that green means go, yellow means slow down and of course red means stop. Well, we were on the way home from the grocery store one afternoon and about halfway through Old MacDonald had a farm when we came to a stoplight and I turned right... ON RED!?! Mid-Moo Caleb began to squeal and got very upset.. "Red means stop, Red means stop.. Oh No Mommy... YOU DIDN'T STOP!!!!!" Now.. I had a mommy moment... I didn't know what to say! Part of me wanted to say, it's okay.. mommy is allowed to turn right on red.. BUT the other part of me realized that we had just mastered this thought process and that in his mind the rule is red means stop-no exception. SO, I agreed with him and told him that even mommy makes a mistake sometimes.. let's just say - no more right turns on red for now!!
(I didn't get a photo of his semi-circles but I did get it on video!)
I finally decided to bite the bullet and introduce something in my home that I do not particularly care too much for - playdough. I know that its a wonderful creative tool BUT it can make such a mess and get EVERYWHERE!! Caleb loves it. He has played with it everyday this week! I was watching him play the other day and he rolled up a small piece of dough into a ball and flattened it. Then he used the (plastic) knife to cut it in half.. and then it happened - He stood up and said "Look Mom, I made a semi-circle!" "Isn't that so cool?" Oh my goodness - I was so proud!! In that moment not only was I proud of Caleb but HE was so proud of himself. I live for those little moments.
I am so blessed to be able to stay at home with Caleb. I love seeing and being a part of these moments... time goes by so quickly!
